EDITOR’S NOTE

 It is with great pleasure that we announce Temple University’s very first issue of Grey Matters.  Below, you will find a potpourri of articles exploring neurodegenerative disorders, traumatic brain injury, and cutting-edge neuroscience research.

 The past sixteen weeks have been a testament to collaboration. Undergraduates majoring in the sciences worked with talented art majors to communicate various topics. Our graduate reviewers ensured a standard of accuracy and safeguarded the integrity of our publication. Over 65 contributors put forth their best effort in making this issue a success.

 Our organization’s aim is to deconstruct barriers towards effective communication, thereby making neuroscience accessible to all. The breadth of topics within this issue points to the expansiveness of neuroscience as a field. In fact, Issue 1 only scratches the surface of how much there is to learn. We hope that our publication lights a spark of curiosity and encourages you to continue your own endeavors investigating the beauty of the brain.
